Here is one template that you can use to write your article:

Before beginning with the writing part, be sure to have all the information you need and the ideas clearly in your mind.

First of all, your article has to be clear and reader friendly. This is why it is better to divide it into different paragraphs. The general structure of an article is:

A. INTRODUCTION

For your Introduction, try to attract the attention of the reader. To do this, you can use headings and subheadings, also begin your first paragraph with a common sense sentence. Actually, the first paragraph has to be attractive and introduce your subject. The reader should be able to get a good overview by only reading the lead.

Remember that, although you will be familiar with the subject you are writing about, readers of The Expert Lounge may not be, so it is important to establish the context of your article's subject early on.

E.g.:

- "Why do people need to spend so much money? Is the advertising playing a role in this behaviour...?"
- "Gone are the days when you prepared yourself with patience and cash to go out on a shopping spree. In today's modern world."

B. DEVELOPMENT

After having caught the eyes of your reader, you have to go further into your subject, this is the Development part.

This part can contain different paragraphs, each with a different idea, fact of point of view. Discuss all the solutions to the problem you outlined in the introduction. Break up each point into separate paragraphs. You may want to intersectsub-headings at for each point. This makes it easier to read as most people will scan your article when reading it online.

Images, graphics or drawing diagrams can be an interesting way to illustrate your comments. So, don't be afraid to use if they are relevant.

The most readable article contains NO irrelevant (or only loosely relevant!) information. While writing an article, you might find yourself digressing into a side subject. If you find yourself wandering off-topic, consider placing the additional information into a different article, where it will fit more closely with the topic.

C. CONCLUSION

After having developed your subject, it is time to give to the reader a summary of your ideas. The Conclusion should include a brief summary of your article without introducing new problems or ideas. However, repeating paraphrased article statement without any additional argument is not the solution either. It creates an impression that your work had been futile - as the article begins and ends with the same thing.

As well as the introduction, the conclusion should be written after the main body of the paper has been finished, and the problem is understood by the writer completely.

ADDITIONAL ADVICE

Do write in an informal style, like you would explain your topic to a friend. Don't worry too much about correcting mistakes or how it sounds. This may interrupt the flow of thoughts you want to write about. You can always correct them later.

After having written the article, come back to it after several hours, a day or several days. This will enable you to take a fresh look at it, find new mistakes or even want to rewrite a paragraph or two to make it flow better. Get someone else to read it over. Often they will find the mistakes that you missed.
